Aquarium

About a year ago, Monterey Bay Aquarium had a great white shark on display. After visiting my parents, Scott and I made a detour on our drive back to socal to stop and see the shark. We arrived at the museum when they opened at 9:30am, and hurried directly to the shark tank. But to our dismay, the shark had been released that morning, about 2 hours before we got there....since then Scott has been dying to see a white shark. Fast forward to late August. I read in the newspaper that Monterey has another white shark. We made plans to go see it the very next day, there would be no risking a release again! And yes, we were treated to a female baby white shark...only 55 lbs and less than a year old, but nonetheless had that eerie great white mouth. After visiting the shark, we checked out the jellyfish and sea otters, and then headed to the wharf where we dined on clam chowder. So check out the pictures of sharkie and other fun stuff!
The white shark...we have video of her too, but that takes me forever to download and post...

jellyfish! (my favorite exhibit)

sea otters! (my favorite exhibit before they had the jellyfish)

I guess he was out of mardi gras beads!

the jellyfish are going away too! really wonder what the mba's going to do without all of those displays. we were there a couple of weekends ago and no sharky shark. so sad!

i grew up visiting this aquarium all the time. my fav is the petting pond. i would hold starfish all day long. knowing now that they're carnivores creeps me out!

oh and the shark - not right. just not right.

the otters - too cute for words.

shark = bad

seriously that blurry photo gives me the creeps. I can't look at your blog again until the shark is farther down the page.
