When your husband is a chef, and your neighbor is a chef, you can always run next door when you run out of something. Today my neighbor came over to borrow sesame oil for tuna tar-tar. I gave him the sesame oil, and some of Scott's BBQ brisket we told him about. A little while later, the neighbor kids come over to return the sesame oil and gave me this:
Love having awesome neighbors! And get this, the guy moving in to the townhouse on the other side of us is also a chef...haven't met him yet, but I am foreseeing an iron chef style cook-off this summer!

Wow! You lucked into the perfect place to live!
that's amazing. i thought we had a good situation in having an extra bottle of tanqueray to donate to our neighbor's halloween party. then she gave me a container of pink himalayan & lavender finishing salt as a thank you. we compared finishing salt notes a few weeks later and she asked if i had a nice bath lately...huh?
i think i thought the salts were for cooking and she thinks they're for bathing. so confused!
can't wait to see what your next exchange turns out...and mine, for that matter.
oh my gosh, YES iron chef in that backyard area you guys have! followed by a soak in your hot tub and 20 bottles of good wine. i am telling you, that is the life!
