Dear Jaynie,
ROAR!! You really roared into your 6th month...by roaring all the time! Roaring is your very favorite sound to make, and you roar at home, in the car, at the store, on walks, and even in the bath. There must be a little lion in you! You also have mastered making raspberries, but almost always prefer roaring over raspberries. You weigh 14 lbs and are 26.75 inches long. You are a very long and skinny baby!!Now you take baths in the big tub!
This month you are working on sitting up. You can sit with the help of mom and dad (leaning back on us). You must be strengthening your muscles so you can do it on your own soon. You're favorite strengthening exercise is a pilates maneuver, where you lay on your back and lift your head and legs. If I practiced this as much as you, I would certainly fit back into a bikini this summer (but alas, you totally beat me on stomach strengthening exercises, and I am resigned to a one-piece this year).

Sadly, no food for you yet. The doctor is making us wait until your next visit, as a result of your dad's gluten allergy as an infant. You do get to start solids in about a week though! We are very excited to begin this process, especially Dad with his chef skills (mmm, strained peas with mint!)

Waiting for summer!
You celebrated Dad's first Father's Day this year by helping mom prepare breakfast in bed for Dad (soft scrambled eggs with chives and creme fraiche, thick sliced bacon, and a fresh morning bun.) Later in the day we barbeque-ed at Nonny and Grandpa's house with your great grandparents Nana and Pa, Great Grandma Marianne, Great Auntie Anne, Great Uncle Dick, Great Aunt Kim, Uncle Jason, Aunt Kelly, Uncle Max, and Victoria.

Mom's school year came to an end in the middle of June, so that means I am off all summer with you! Aunt Kelly is very sad about not watching you anymore, and she is moving to Santa Rosa this week, but we will go visit her whenever we get a chance. Right now we're looking for a daycare for the fall, when I have to return to work.
Hot day!
Your favorite toys now include your "Violet" talking stuffed dog (we programmed her to say your name!), your doll with the tags on it, your chewy fruit keychain, and of course, Sophie Le Giraffe. You like to grab for your toys now, and are much more active playing with them. Violet makes you smile when she sings songs about you.
The weather is finally nice around here, so your closet full of summer clothes are getting some use. We can't wait for you to go swimming this summer!
Love,
Mom and Dad
