Family Birthdays
Last week was my little brother Max's 18th birthday, and then 2 days later was my mom's birthday. Ususally, I send them presents and wish them a happy day over the phone, as they live in Walnut Creek; but this year the whole family had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate together! My parents and Max made an impromptu trip to Pomona to attend an open house at Cal Poly Pomona's renowned engineering school, since Max might be a student there next year. They stayed in Claremont with my grandparents, so my older brother Jason, Scott and I came out Saturday to honor the birthday people. Scott brought some delicious British Columbian organic salmon and grilled it to perfection in the rain. Nana made a rich and rustic flourless chocolate cake with fresh raspberries and whipped cream. Of course, a Vetterli get together is not complete without plenty of wine, so we did our duty and drank it up =)
Here's Scott with his future in-laws (my mom and little brother)
Ahhhh, can't you feel the love?? Mom cuts the cake with Dad.
