Where has the summer gone??? After reading a comment from dev, I realized I never posted about our move! I've been too busy catching up on wedding and honeymoon posts.
So after we returned from Maui, we spent a few days at my parent's house looking for places to live in the Bay Area. We searched in Berkeley (too many students), Emeryville (still a bit too ghetto, especially when I will be alone at night with Scott's new schedule), and Oakland (couldn't find any housing in the desirable area: Rockridge). We then expanded our search to areas east of the tunnel: Lafayette and Walnut Creek. After searching through endless craigslist ads, we found an ad in the newspaper (gasp....do they still make those???) A family of four is buying a new home, and are looking for renters for their condo. So we went to take a look at their place, and fell in love with it. It is a 2 bedroom townhome, 2 patios, and a backyard. We even inherit the owner's vegetable garden! The landlords are great too, they are a young couple with 2 small boys. He is from Newport Beach (totally knows exactly where we live right now and has friends who live a few blocks from us), she is from Walnut Creek, and she used to teach kindergarten. Hmmmm, sounds like Scott and I, minus the kids. So we put our deposit down and took the place! The location is great too...we are walking distance to Walnut Creek Bart, easy freeway access, and can walk to the free shuttle to downtown (can even walk downtown no problem too). We are not sure of the exact move in date (they have to wait for escrow to close on their new place), but we're looking at sometime around August 15th. We are booted from our present place August 11th. That means we'll be staying at my parents' house for a few days (Hi mom, I know you read this...can we stay at your house a few days?)
So there you go, we move in 11 days, and I have so far packed 4 boxes of books....
