Ferry Building Farmer's Market

Since Scott had to work on his birthday last Saturday, we celebrated in the morning before work, with a surprise trip to the Ferry Building Farmer's Market. Scott has been wanting to check this market out ever since our move up here. It is a beautiful, but pricey market. We bought some Blue Bottle coffee (to sip as we perused the goods), fresh fava beans, some head of garlic that must be special since it was $10/lb, a super sharp white cheddar from Point Reyes, and some spreadable salami from Boccalone (inside the Ferry Building). Scott blanched and sauteed the fava beans with a little pancetta and pecorino cheese the next night at my parent's house...it was heavenly.
Oh, and spreadable salami is a soft, spicy salami you can spread on bread or crackers. We ate that post Napa with a baguette from Bouchon (oh yeah, we went to Napa on Sunday...post coming soon)
Bell peppers!

Dinner Plate Dalia...it was huge
